  3. The Find option allows you to easily locate a single record within your database or locate a group 
  4. of records for viewing or printing.
  5. After choosing Find from the Database menu, you will be presented with a dialog box.  Click the
  6. mouse on the field(s) containing the information you're trying to locate.  Then, enter the 
  7. characters on your keyboard containing the information to what you're trying to find.  For 
  8. example, if you're trying to find all the people in your database whose last name is"Anderson," 
  9. you could click on the Last Name field and enter the word"Anderson".

  11. Or, you could enter just the characters common to all the people you're trying to find.  For 
  12. example, you could  just entered "son" to find all the people whose Last Names contain  these 
  13. three letters.

  15. After deciding which information  to search, you must decide how you want the search to be 
  16. conducted.  You have four options:  Find, Next, Previous, and Find All. "Find" will find the 
  17. first record with a field that contains the information you specified. "Next" will find the next 
  18. record containing your specifications from the current  actively displayed record in the database.
  19. "Prev" will find the previous record containing your specifications  from the current actively 
  20. displayed record in the database.    
  21. "Find All" is a very powerful option, because it allows you to find all the records in your 
  22. database containing the information you specified and only display those records. You can then 
  23. further process those selected records.   For example, you could conduct a mailing to everyone 
  24. in your database who lives in California by specifying"CA" in the State field and then clicking 
  25. on"Find All."  Further, after finding all the records of people living in California, you could 
  26. then sort them by zip code by selecting the Sort option from the Database menu. After 
  27. conducting a Find All search, the computer will show all the records meeting your criteria
  28. in the Browser.  You may now narrow your target further by conducting more Find All 
  29. searches, or you may sort all the records.  
  30. (NOTE:  When you print, Desktop Labels will only print those records shown in the 
  31. Browser.)
  32.   To return to the full database, select Undo Find All from the Database menu.

  34. The keyboard shortcut for Find is Command-F. The keyboard shortcut for Find Next is 
  35. Command-G.  The keyboard shortcut for Find Previous is Command-R.
